Today, Autosport and Castrol announced they were teaming up to produce driver rankings, on a weekly basis. There is a secret formula that works out whether a driver should move up or down the rankings, presumably based on his performance, although it’s hard to tell.
They were released today, but already have a year’s worth of data in them – and get this, Franck started 2009 in 20th position, but is currently sitting in 243rd.
Nonsense.
I don’t even care how these numbers are produced, there is no way Franck should be ranked that far down on anything. The numbers are stupid and pointless and the only people who benefit from them are the marketing department that dreamed up the idea in the first place.
That’s all I have to say about that.
You’ll always be my number one, Mr M.

Their rankings from top to bottom are incredibly stupid. I wonder how long before Castrol ask for their money back.

Hear hear!
18th best Frenchman? I don’t even know much about most of the others!
When we found out that Nakajima, Sutil and Woman were in the top 50 then that sealed the deal…
Dropping 200 places on one bad race. Pffft!

Did they use the “stick everyone in a hat and pick out at random” approach?
